Who has ownership of my book rights?

You retain complete ownership of all rights, including print, digital, foreign language, television and film.


How long will it take to publish my book?

It usually takes 4-6 weeks for the custom cover design and formatting once final edited manuscript is received ready to publish. The printing and shipping will take approximately 2-3 weeks after book order is placed and paid for.


What costs are not covered in my publishing contract?

Any editing or proofreading work.  Shipping charges. Charges by printer to make changes to text, cover, or retail price after the initial proof approval. A 2nd proof copy.


What is a proof?

A proof is a printout of your book's pages and cover design. The purpose of a proof is to check for errors before the job is printed.


Do I receive a proof of my book?

We will provide 1 proof copy of your book with cover image for your approval. This proof copy will be returned to Running Quail Press with any corrections that need to be made before printing.


How much will it cost for Running Quail Press to edit my manuscript?

A quote will be prepared based on the number of manuscript pages after your submission of the first 30 pages, which will determine the level of editing needed.


Once I've had my book produced, is having it reprinted difficult?

When your book has been produced, it is stored at our facilities as a digital file. A simple phone call is all it takes to have your book reprinted.


I know that I have a great idea for a book, but I'm not sure that my writing skills are adequate. Can you help me write it?

Yes, we do offer developmental editing. We work with the author from the idea, raw material, or early draft stage to help develop the manuscript.
